Powder

Grind, crush, crumble, disintegrate, decompose, disintegrate, disperse: POWDER. What happens to what remains? Clara Breakfast, Samuel Schaab, Sixtus Preiss and Mani Obeya set a process in motion that creates sound patterns dissolves and captures everything in its path. An industrial shredder, a dozen keyboards and a prepared piano are at the centre of the soundgeneration. Texts by Ferdinand Schmalz shimmer out of across the room. In the midst of whirling questionsmente, a tap dancer encounters the never-ending Mass with full physical effort. Sound particles, dust and remnants of speech fill the room.
What remains in the end: POWDER.
The author Ferdinand Schmalz for PULVER
I will take it all back.
everything I have ever produced
disassemble again,
I will start here,
with everything that is dear to me,
i'm going to shred my household goods,
put my papers through the shredder,
smash my appliances with a stone,
I'm going to use a wrecking ball
tear down my four walls,
my bed in painstaking detail,
grind together,
i'm going to set fire to my library,
I will extinguish myself,
to finally be whole again.
