+++ 17 - 27 SEPTEMBER 2025 +++
The programme is online!
Austria's festival for new music theatre presents a choice: from 18 to 28 September 2024, the MUSIKTHEATERTAGE WIEN will present the latest works of music theatre at various venues and make the ecological future part of the programme. In addition to guest performances from Germany, Belgium, Lithuania and Ukraine, in-house and co-productions will present time-critical and cross-genre concepts.
Participatory performance, VR experience, environmental opera in a Renaissance palace, Biedermeier establishment - or outdoor?
The participation and community programme HÖRBLICKE, the international music theatre conference AMD and a late-night club MOSAIK for artistic Get-togethers round off the 10-day programme.

The MUSIKTHEATERTAGE WIEN are a festival for contemporary music theatre
The festival takes place annually in September and offers ambitious and forward-looking in-house, guest and co-productions. It uses the possibilities of contemporary music theatre to create an unconventional approach to relevant topics. As an international festival for new music theatre, it commissions and creates new projects and connects the national with the international scene.
These were the MUSIKTHEATERTAGE WIEN 2023
With the #MTTW2023 there were from 13. to 23. September eight Music theatre productions at unconventional and familiar venues in the city as well as musical encounters of the festival artists with the Viennese scene in the Festival Lounge to experience.
