MTTW LABOR - Dialoge über Weltsysteme
Dialoge über Weltsysteme is a five-day experimental workshop in which hearing and deaf artists work together as equals to create new worlds and challenge our perceptions – a fresh take on musical theatre.
Director Sina Heiss, composer Philipp Kienberger and the deaf performer Alexander Regal are inviting deaf artists from various disciplines. Together, they are developing spontaneous performances in which sound, sign language, imagery and movement come together.
An open, sensory exploration of the limits of perception – featuring music, sign language and space for new possibilities.
Inclusion can be an artistic opportunity – and that is precisely what we are exploring in this lab. Whilst the majority of the cultural sector produces content primarily for hearing audiences, we are investigating just how much creative potential lies in engaging with so-called „barriers“. It is about visibility, genuine encounters and the courage to question one’s own certainties – very much in the spirit of Galileo.
There is no set script. Philipp and Alex create a score made up of vibrations, sounds and rhythms, which serves as a soundscape for the guests. The outcome of each evening remains to be seen.
