What if we experienced the world with a sense of immediate connection to objects? How would our perception of things – and of one another – change? Would such a “shift” affect our social reality; the way we experience closeness and distance?

Starting from the question of how we experience the world in the here and now, in the moment, the performers in DIE SEELE DER DINGE explore everyday objects as extensions of the body. Conversely, these objects begin to „use“ the performers by altering their behaviour, physicality and patterns of interaction. This creates a dynamic dialogue between humans and the surrounding world of objects, in which the expected functions of the body and objects shift, enabling new ways of perceiving and new forms of relationship.

In my work, I am interested in the subtle connection of the self through a sense of belonging to everything. I am less concerned with dependence than with a sense of belonging to one another and the search for a shared resonance. It is a process of creating a shared body that can take on unusual forms: consisting of fragmented language, becoming an extension of an object or instrument, or sometimes existing in a single gesture. It is an attempt to make hidden connections visible and to open up new forms of shared existence and mutual perception.

Marina Poleukhina is a composer and improviser. She graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory and the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, where she studied under Clemens Gadenstätter.
Her artistic work focuses on an interdisciplinary approach. Her music creates worlds that go beyond mere sound, combining movement, light, video projections onto unusual surfaces, and the manipulation of everyday objects that are transformed into instruments. Objects also play a central role by creating spaces of their own. This gives rise to new, complex acoustic situations at the intersections of different genres.
Her works have been performed at festivals such as Ultima (Oslo), Wien Modern (Vienna), Path Festival (Verona) and MATA (New York). She works with ensembles such as Lemniscate, Pinquins, Nadar, Airborne Extended, MCME, Looptail, Zwerm, Platypus and Curious Chamber, and collaborates with both improvisers and choreographers.
She is the founder of „Rotating Plant – Association for Transdisciplinary Art“ and the curator of the „Real Time Music“ concert series, which is dedicated to improvisation.

Katelyn Rose King is a musician, performer and researcher from the US state of Georgia who works across North America and German-speaking Europe. As a Fulbright scholar, she combines international artistic perspectives with innovative approaches in music and theatre. She has worked with Error Theater and Klangforum Wien, as well as at renowned festivals and venues such as the Salzburg Festival, the Burgtheater in Vienna and the Berliner Festspiele.
Her artistic practice operates at the intersection of contemporary and experimental music, theatre, and the hybrid formats that lie between them. She places particular emphasis on post-digital culture, performative experience and the expansion of percussion through electronic means. Katelyn is interested in interdisciplinary collaboration, alternative production processes and a critical examination of conventional structures of music-making.
She studied at the Bern University of the Arts, McGill University and Kennesaw State University, and is currently pursuing a PhD in artistic research in Vienna.

Stefan Voglsinger (b. 1986) is a musician and performer based in Vienna. He studied percussion at the Vienna Music Institute, music and movement education at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, and sound design for film at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión in Cuba. Stefan Voglsinger works across disciplines, experimenting with sound and image. He develops performances and audiovisual installations using self-built and hacked electronic circuits. At the Setzkasten – which serves as a studio, laboratory and event space all in one – he modifies analogue film projectors, works in the darkroom and in the sound studio. He regularly organises concerts and transdisciplinary evenings, and runs workshops on circuit bending at festivals and schools. He works at the Vienna Film Museum, is co-curator of the Klangmanifeste, and plays with the Vegetable Orchestra.
