Together with the pianist and composer Paul Hankinson, the singer and actor (Münchner Kammerspiele) Damian Rebgetz interprets Pop hitswhich he acquired in his youth in the form of compilation albums with titles such as "80s Heartbreakers", "Hit Pix 88" or "Summer 89".
The two musicians recontextualise the historical phase of mainstream music and bring their material in the Setting of a song recital with works by Robert Schumann for voice and piano for performance. Damian Rebgetz and Paul Hankinson evoke capitalism coagulated into music, the "post-disco-topical" melancholy of the 80s, and revive hymns to the dictatorship of love.
